JOB DESCRIPTION
 

M + M Interior Design is looking for a Construction Coordinator / Draftsperson who will work directly with the principals and design team in developing, detailing, and producing our luxury, high-end residential projects. The position requires the candidate to be fluent in traditional luxury residential renovations and construction drawings, detailing, and site supervision as well as have excellent communication skills.
 

RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
 

• Produce technical and construction documentation (plans, elevations, architectural/millwork details, and custom furniture drawings) that illustrate the design intent and use of materials for residential projects.
• Participate in construction administration, evaluate bids, conduct site visits, address technical issues, and maintain quality control during construction.
• Review shop drawings.
• Identify, select, and specify architectural products and vendors. Coordinate with same.
• Work closely with the internal design team to manage and coordinate lead times, budgets, quantities, and finishes.
• Manage, oversee, and distribute construction schedules.
• Work with consultants, contractors, and fabricators to meet overall project objectives.
• Interface directly with clients to facilitate the project objectives.
• Work from Chicago-area studio
• Some local driving will be required.
 

DESIRED SKILLS & AND EXPERIENCE

 

• 8+ years’ experience to include -
• Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Architecture
• Fluent in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Microsoft Suite, Revit, Adobe Suite
• Produce CAD renderings of custom furnishings and interior spaces
• Strong understanding of architectural project development and process
• High-end residential design experience
• Experience working with contractors
• Extremely detail-oriented
• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Team player with a positive attitude

JOB DESCRIPTION

M + M Interior Design is looking for a Senior Interior Designer with experience in high-end residential projects to join our team. The ideal candidate is a creative, self-motivated, and meticulous individual who is able to lead a strong design team and act in a project management role. Must be able to understand and translate the firm's vision, and work in a collaborative environment, but also have a strong sense of independent design, as we appreciate new ideas. This is a full-time, management-level position for an experienced, hands-on, positive, and reliable Interior Designer to work directly with the Principal on all aspects of design and project management.

RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:

  • This person should be able to collaborate seamlessly with clients, as well as other designers, architects, contractors, fabricators, artisans, and developers on multiple projects.

  • Responsible for material sourcing and specification, custom furniture design, visual research, furniture sourcing, and graphic and visual presentations, in addition to maintaining budgets and project timelines.

  • Creating project documentation including the submission of a full drawing set, specification writing, schedules, and construction administration

DESIRED SKILLS & AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 5 years of Interior Design experience with 1+ years of experience as a Senior Designer.

  • Degree from an accredited school.

  • Passion for design and an eye for detail.

  • Excellent hand sketching and rendering ability.

  • Knowledge of the full design process including Concept, Schematic, Design Development, Construction Documentation, Construction Administration, Procurement, and Installation.

  • High proficiency in AutoCad, Studio Designer, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), SketchUp, and Google Suite.

  • Confident and polished presentation skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a willingness to adapt to the daily needs of the design team.

  • Experience working with high-end high profile clientele
